In the morning, we ate the provided breakfast at our hotel. Since we had some extra time before our 6:35 pm flight to Delhi, we decided to go back to the Prince of Wales museum, which we had visited briefly the day before.
Ecosystems
The Prince of Wales museum is known for it's collection of natural artifacts as well. This museum taught us a great deal about the habitats of many Indian animals, like the Flamingo, Great Hornbill, Indian Bison and Tigers common throughout India. India is very large, so it supplies a vast amount of habitats spanning from forests, wetlands, coasts, marshes, and deserts. These array of ecosystems ensures a broad array of animals throughout the country. However, India is naturally very hot do to its closeness to the equator, so all the animals have adapted to warm environments. India has a monsoon season for four months that supplies eighty percent of India's annual rainfall. These conditions support many different organisms, and learning about their different habitats was incredibly fascinating.
Culture
We also enjoyed the Mughal Jades and ivory pieces in the section of the museum dedicated to art. The ivory section has artifacts dating as early as the Gupta era! All of the pieces were incredible and unlike anything we had ever seen. At 5 we left for the airport as to not to be late for our flight to Delhi. There were some Indian restaurants in the airport, but we decided to get something that would remind us of home. We decided to stop and grab hamburgers. When we arrived, it was late so we went straight to our hotel, the Radisson Blu, and went to sleep.
